The support group will provide friendships with people that know and understand exactly what you and your family are going through. Together you can share your happy times, your sad times, your frustrations, your fears and generally help with the loneliness and isolation you can sometimes feel. Just knowing that you are not the only one who has this condition can be a tremendous relief.
The group is a place where experiences, research and treatment can be shared and discussed, helping group members to learn more about this syndrome.
We also aim to promote a greater understanding, education and awareness of Fibromyalgia both in the community and amongst medical professionals on the island.
By helping to educate people on what Fibromyalgia is and how it affects people in their everyday life then it will hopefully make learning to live with the condition easier.
People such as family, friends, carers, employers, work colleagues, nurses, doctors etc. need to know in order to provide the best help and support.
We organise guest speakers, awareness events and social get-togethers. We also produce an in-house Newsletter on a regular basis to help keep people informed.

Why join a support group? It can be comforting to have the reassurance, understanding and support of others who share the same challenges that you have to face.
